Creativity has a way of opening doors…
Hi! I'm Alexis.
I'm someone who believes creativity can change people…
Whether that's through a song, a painting, a photograph, or simply someone having the courage to make the thing they've been dreaming about for years, I think creativity has a way of opening doors we didn't even know were there.
For me, it all started with music.
I've spent years writing songs, performing, collaborating with incredible artists and sharing stories that are equal parts hopeful, honest and a little messy (because life usually is). Music has given me some of my greatest joys, lifelong friendships and countless opportunities to connect with people I never would have met otherwise.
That love of connection is what led me to create Through The Creative Door (and my battle with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome).
The podcast began with a simple question: What’s behind the creation and the person who made it?
Every episode is a conversation with someone who creates - musicians, painters, dancers, writers, photographers, actors, filmmakers, entrepreneurs and people whose creativity doesn't always fit neatly into a box.
We talk about the wins, the doubts, the failures, the moments that almost made them quit, and the things that keep them creating anyway.
Because I think those stories matter.
This website is where all of those worlds come together.
You'll find my music, the podcast, creative projects, collaborations, live shows, writing, behind-the-scenes moments and probably a few ideas that started as "this might be fun..." and somehow became real.
If there's one thing I hope you take away from being here, it's this:
Creativity isn't reserved for the people who call themselves artists.
It's for everyone.
Thanks for stopping by and being part of my journey.
I'm so glad you're here.
A x
